Eric Frampton

We picked him up off waivers from the Lions last year, and he was an EXCELLENT special teams player for the second half of the season (if anyone was paying attention).  But with the additional of Boulware, Tyrell, and even Sapp, we're probably not going to be able to keep him on board.

R.I.P. to the third member of the special teams triumvirate

Farwell, Ciurciu, Frampton ?

Who will we call upon to replace this man's selective brilliance?...!!

Ray Edwards

Heard anything new on Ray Edwards status?  The article below doesn't sound good, but this may be old news.

The outlook for DE Ray Edwards is not quite as clear. Edwards sat out all of minicamp because of a back injury, weakening what is expected to be one of the NFL's top defensive lines. Edwards has been penciled in as the starter at left end, where he would see favorable blocking schemes while opponents focus on Pro Bowlers Kevin Williams, Pat Williams and Allen

Video Pick and Vikings Programming Note

I was browsing YouTube and found a pretty cool video called Minnesota Vikings 2008 Preview.  It shows some of the nice plays from the 2007 season.  Watching it just makes me more anxious for the 2008 season.

On Monday July 7th the Vikings will be featured on NFL Total Access (NFL Network) for the 32 Teams - 32 Days segment they are having.  I'm pretty sure they go through all the games we played in the 2007 season plus some more stuff.

The Big Itch

I hope that all this hubbub about Favre coming back drive all the Peck...errr I mean  Packers nuts.  I hope it distracts them and makes Little Mr. Rodgers look over his shoulder each time he hears the name of Favre.

What a joy it would be.

I love discontent and uncertainty, don't you?

Would you be mine, would you be mine, won't you be my neighbor.

I think I watched to much Public TV wihen my kids were young.

Go Vikes!

Which Wideout Would You Rather Trade For Next Year

Chad Johnson Ups And Downs:

Ups: Dominant Wideout.  Can Get a wide space between him and a defender.  Quick on cuts, in routes, and getting pass a defender.  Doesn't get in off field trouble.  Good player.   Can be hall of fame caliber.

Downs: Can be a major distraction for a team.  Get fined for taunts after touchdown, and average blocking.

Roy Williams:  Big wideout, can get space between himself and a defedner.  Can catch some overthorwn balls.  Okay blocker, and a deep threat.

Downs: Age is his main down.

Anquan Boldin: Quick Wideout, who can get space on slant, curve, and in routes.  Also can get pass a defender.  Can avoid bump and run coverage. Pro Bowl Wideout.

Downs: Average Blocker. Injures can slow him down.

Could The Vikings Make A Splash And Give The Bengals An Offer They Can't Refuse For Chad Johnson Next Year

The Vikings obviously now have an upgraded receiving corp, with the rookies from last year getting 1 year under their belt, and bringing in Bernard Berrian. Will this Receiving Corp be as good as people think they will be next year. Everyone is excited for Sidney Rice, and Aundrae Allison. Chad Johnson wants to be on a winning team, and with the division the Bengals are in, winning is going to be tough to do. If the Bengals don’t win, Chad doesn’t want to be there. The Bengals would be better off to trade him and get value for him other than letting his contract run out and getting no value for him. Like Chad said, the NFL is a business. If the Vikings want a player, they are going to get him. Even if it mean trading away picks, giving away money, or trading players to get him. Could the Vikings make a blockbuster trade to get Chad Johnson in 09.

If trade happens

WIDE RECEIVER CORP.

Bernard Berrian

Sidney Rice

Aundrae Allison

Chad Johnson

(*)Robert Ferguson

(*)Jaymar Johnson

 (*)= Possibly

TRADE- 1st Round Pick 2nd or 3rd Round Pick, Matt Birk, and another player with expiring contract or another draft pick.  (*) Bryant McKinnie.

T Jack and the how 12-4 is believable for next season.

I dont understand why so many people are hating on T-Jack yes he may not be great but it has a solid winning record, and had it not been for more than a few dropped TDs the vikings could have been 10-6 or better last season.  One particular example that comes to mind is the drop that T-Will had during the denver game, and although T-Jack didnt play the KC game if Shiancoe would have caught that pass thats another win.  Theres 10-6 if we would have won those two games. Not to mention we should have beaten the Lions the first time and the redskins also.  So there is 12-4 for last season if we would have played all four quarters of every game.  And people are saying we wont do better than 8-8 next i personally believe 12-4 is possible with the upgrades we made this offseason and  sweep of the division is going to happen.

Rookies - Overpaid and Unproven

The Commish steps up and tells it like it is.... I like this guy more and more...

Overpaid and Unproven; Roger Goodell Sounds Off

It's easy to see why the CBA died when it comes to the outrageous nature of these contracts; then some of these kids have the nerve to hold out for a better deal.

I'm glad Commish G is stepping up and addressing these issues head on.

This SKOL'S for you!
